Default dude, i just figured this out like an hour ago. you would think it was ok to drive after....

$2,500 worth of work over 2 weeks. you think i want my car to be like this! i can't afford not to have my car for two weeks, that's just ridiculous. they better figure this out overnight.

Default checking for cracks is a process not a visual inspection

and if it's bad enough the plugs can still show some signs of fouling even with modern ignition systems. some places just do a visual as a short cut. What was the mileage of the engine when this started and was it gradual or pretty quick.

Default yea, no matter what he does it's not going to come out pretty P.S. $2500 doesn't buy much internal

engine work. I'd like to see a copy of the bill but I'm betting they took some shortcuts. I've seen bills from the machine shop that where close to that. That didn't include parts or labor to pull it apart and put it all back together again. It sounds to me like they did a poor diagnoses from the start and now he's going to pay through the nose for it.

Default Put some flourescent dye in the oil...

...drive it for awhile and then check with a blacklight. I know they make a dye for use with the AC system. Probably you could use the same in the crankcase, but be sure to check first.

Default gaskets, seals, valve guides, and f'in labor, 20 hours worth...

plus a new ICV motor and fuel sensor, which are fine and not having issues.
