Default Steering Groan noise low pulling in or out of parking spaces

Anyone resolve this?

I spent 30 minutes on search and came up with:

1) check the fuild - done
2) tie rod ends
3) balljoint in teh front suspension
4) power steering pump and or rack

What have yo done to fix this?

TIA
-Michael

Default It's the TRE. Had the same problem and changed out TREs....

Everything works great now and the steering feels so much stiffer/better now.

Default jack up front end of car and with power on, do 10 lock-to-lock turns each side, do med-slow..

speed, just don't hold at stops more than 3 seconds to reduce wear on PS pump. This can help to fluid any air in PS system. Recheck fluid after lowering car.

Default Its what ya listed

Definetly one of those things

But need more info...more than likely power steering if its when your turing the wheel

If not then, well obviously control arms or tie rods hands down

Default Dump the fluid from the rack

There was a post earlier about how to change the PS fluid an an A8 that would work on our cars, but it doesn't seem to get it all changed out from the rack, because I had the stealer do it on the cheap and I think they did it that way. It lessened but didn't totally fix the problem. There's a way that requires you to jackstand the car, disconnect the return on the rack (not easy), turn the wheel side to side with the car on so the power steering works, and dump fluid into the system as fast as it drains out.

I think more details are somewhere in the archives. Yeah, that helped, didn't it.
