steering wheel scratching

Default steering wheel scratching
When I turn my steering wheel to the left it makes a scratching sound like something is rubbing inside the steering column

Has anyone had this problem? what could it be?

PS- My brother has the same problem on his jetta

steering fluid level? Just a guess. You might want to check it if you haven't already.

I had the same issue, cleared it self up after idk 5k miles
