Default steering wheel wrap

I just can't handle my steering wheel (pun intended). Presumably, it's leather, but it's so slippery that I have to grip very hard to maintain control. Has anybody found a suitable wrap for their steering wheel - one that is thin and, perhaps, a bit tacky (sticky, that is)?

Default Could it be the stuff you use to clean it that is making it excessively slippery? Try gloves?

IMO, watch the cheese factory if redoing stock wrap.

Give it some time to break in, better yet, condition it, once it softens up it's much better

Default when I got a loaner, the black leather wheel seemed like different material than my gray

I don't know why, but the black felt grippier but also cheaper feeling too like it wasn't leather. Mine is fairly slippery but feels like its leather and its been that way since I picked it up.

Default The leather shouldnt be slippery

Could someone have wiped it with something like Armor-all or driven it with greasy hands?

Try using a leather cleaner then leather treatment like Zymol.

I suspect you're right. I recently bought it and didn't even think that the "detailers" of the dealership might have "cleaned" the steering wheel with something like Armor All. I'll clean it this evening. Thanks for the suggestions.

Default Use Audi Leather Lotion, then buff A LOT with a soft cotton cloth. (more)

You really have to buff it a whole bunch or it will be slippery. But after it's done it should be nice. I agree that the detailers probably Armor-All'd it. Idiots.
