stereo illumination

I am trying to find an aftermarket stereo that has Audi-red illumination... so that replacing the (non-Bose) factory stereo on a 1997 A4 doesn't look all weird. I have read one post about Alpine customizing theirs for a small fee, but haven't talked to them yet.
Also wondering if anyone could recommend speakers that make a good replacement of the factory ones - or whether I should go through the pain of installing 6+ speakers instead of just replacing the 4 I have. Has anyone tried this? What's the cabling like? Suggestions welcome... My budget for all this is around $500.
TIA

are to replace the stock speakers with Infinity Kappas all around, components in the front and multi-elements in the rear. The set can be had for around $270 or so by shopping around on the net. I'm also planning on powering these with a seperate amp, a Jensen KA5 which can be found for $200 or so. I'm keeping the stock head unit since I've got a 2001 and it integrates so well that I'm sure anything else would look really out of place.

1) will the install require much modification to the car? Will you need to cut door panels or the rear deck or is this all pretty much "plug-n-play"?
2) what kind of bass response will this give you? I have Polk Dx6's in the rear deck and the bass response is crap. It's possible the reason is i'm running them off the stock rear speaker amp. I've been thinking of getting a Basslink.
thanks... josh

I'm planning on using 5.25" components in the front. No modifications should be necessary for 5.25" speakers that are "shallow" like the Kappas. MB Quart makes a set of speaker adapters that allow the use of 5.25" speakers in the stock 4" locations. These adapters should be available at any MB Quart dealer.
The tweeter install will be pretty much plug and play.
The rear speakers are already 6.5", which is what I plan on replacing them with, so that shouldn't require any modifications either.
As for bass, I can't really say for certain. The same speakers in other applications sound fantastic, with great bass response when powered by an outboard amp, which is what I'm planning on. The Symphony's onboard power isn't all that great. Mind you I'm not going for Thump-Thump, just smooth, musical bass.
Just in case though the amp I'm looking at, the KA5 from Jensen, has a dedicated subwoofer channel should I want to add a sub later on. For my tastes the better power and speakers will most likely be enough for me. I really don't like the idea of taking up trunk space with a subwoofer enclosure.
