Allright, here's the deal.
I have the stock non-bose system in my 2002.
I tapped into remote turn-on for the stock amp, as well as postive and negative wires going to stock sub.
I ran pos. and neg. wires to a line converter.
I grounded both line converter and amp to a good ground under the back seat, and grabbed power from the power distribution block (a 4 gauge wire that runs directly from the battery to behind the fuse block)
When i turn radio on, amp turns on (LED lights up) but i get NO sound.
Line converter has adjustable pots, but running them through their whole range doesn't change a thing.
It's a stereo amp (xtant 202m) which i'm bridging to mono to drive a single JLAudio 15W0.
I'm pretty sure my wire taps are allright, but how could i test them? would hooking up a multimeter to them and setting it to record AC voltage at least show me if there's a signal?
What would be YOUR next step in troubleshooting?
I appreciate any help!

Get out a volt meter, check your power at the amp. Check your remote wire. Try running 12v+ to the remote terminal. If the amp turns on and it didn't before than it is the remote wire. If the amp is on and nothing is coming out, check your RCA's. Get back to me after you do all this.

1. like using the wrong bridged mono outputs to the speaker...
2. the speaker wire coming loose from the speaker itself (inside the box)...
3. amp gains being set to zero...
4. or an amp fuse being blown... my hafler had channel fuses, not just a power fuse. if one fuse was gone, that channel didnt work.
good luck!

hooking up an old " home stereo" cd player of tape deck directly to the amp. this way you can make sure that everyhting after your line converter is good - if you get sound then you know your amp and sub are working fine- time to trouble shoot your line converter then backward

I think you may have goofed grounding both leads on the line converter. i'm having trouble picturing this.
Inputs from stereo -----> line converter?
Remote on and + - from stock Amp ---> amp?

also i know it sounds dumb but make sure you check the gain on the amp and any switch (if any) stating amp mode..i.e bridged or stereo etc...like you said you could check with a multimeter for a signal.

i've still got stock headunit
basically,
1) i tapped into the remote turn-on from the head unit that goes into the stock amp....
2) I tapped into the 2 wires going OUT of the stock amp that go to the stock sub
In other words...there's a stock amp in the trunk, power doesn't come right from the head unit...does that make any more sense?
