Default stereo mods keeping head unit

I went to change an add a Cd player or changer to the standard system or replace with in dash CD unit .First, where can you get a kit to replace the indash unit ? Second, has any one left the indash concert head and changed front speakers and added an amp and subwolfer. Or is the standard head junk or worth saving. The guy at a high end stereo shop said it's worth saving and using.
thanks

Default I kept the Concert head and added an amp, front speakers and a sub.

I bought a new connector for the head unit so that I could use the line out feature of the stock head unit. It works great!
I also added the factory CD Changer (ordered from Clair). I didn't want to deal with an aftermarket head unit, and this solution is perfect for me.
Good luck
Ken

Re: If you replace the head unit the installer will add a kit to fill up the dash. Concert head unit is worth keeping... unless your getting an Alpine Nav system

Is there a special adapter? What type of sub did you use? where did you hide it?
