Default Stock ecu and high boost ?

Ok, I have a gt3071r turbo'd audi a4, and ive been having some ecu problems. I had an apr stage 3 ecu leftover from my stage 3 kit, along with a MBC and a split second piggy back fuel/timing controller, until the apr s3 chip burned out yesterday. I checked the ecu, had it resoldered, still didnt work, so I threw a stock program in just to get the car running. Well the car runs fine, and the air/fuel is good because the piggy back is overriding the ecu, but when i hit 17psi the stock program trips out and throws itself into limp mode. I tried to get APR to warranty the chip, but because im not the orignal purchaser, they said i have to buy a new one. Bull****. Is there any way to get the tock program to work here, or do I have to get an aftermarket chip. If so, what is the bet chip company to go with and why? Does anyone have any idea of a way to get APR to pay for a new chip?

I wouldn't expect them to pay for it, just buy it from them.
