What are all the differences in the suspension between the stock and the sports suspension package? 1) I know about the 16" wheels and the stiffer (and lower?) springs and shocks.
Are there differences in the anti-sway bars? Do these prevent some of the body roll with cornering? Are there aftermarket options? I like the added clearance and softer ride of stock suspension. I would just like to decrease the body roll.
Thanks, Eric

It was definitely a very soft ride, but the car just looked so plain. And after I got 17" wheels, the wheel well fender gap was just ridiculous looking. The only way to reduce body roll really is to lower the center of gravity of the car, and put sport sway bars in. Which basically requires you to replace all elements of you stock suspension. Therefore, go with the sport package if you don't want to deal with aftermarket parts and costs. You'll find the ride to be about as good, and you can upgrade your wheels and still maintain a sporting look. My 2 cents.

I rode on the stock set up for 13 mos. I picked up the factory sport suspension, minus the bars, from the classifieds. It lowered the car 3/4", cut out much of the body roll and barely changed the ride quality. I still have 16" 5 spokes and OEM rubber. My intention is to upgrade tires as soon as these damn Goodyears wear.

Harshness is completely a matter of taste. I don't find the factory sport suspension to be harsh at all. I have an aftermarket suspension that's even firmer than the factory sport and I don't even find that harsh. But this is just my own opinion on the matter and everyone needs to try the various suspensions and decide for themselves.

I gotta agree.
I don't think the sport suspension is harsh at all, unless you are coming out of a caprice or something.

What car did you drive before the A4? I respect your opinion, but I wouldn't characterize the sport supsension as rough riding at all. I find it controlled, well-damped and a near perfect blend of comfort and handling. I was actually amazed on my first test drive how smooth riding it was. I was expecting something like the BMW sport setup I guess.
