STOP PRESS "Audi Triumphs at Morwell Hillclimb" - Pics to Follow my original post
Here is a pic of me (Worx A4) coming out of Skyline Corner. Skyline corner is 2nd gear off camber blind corner. Take deep breath on corner entry and hang on!

On sunday three of us from the Victorian Audi club were invited to attend a Time Trial at Morwell Hill climb Race Track by the Holden LS1 Club and the Latrobe Valley St. Machiners.
For anyone who doesnt know the Morwell Track. It is a short twisty race track with a number of small hills in it. Its narrow and quite demanding on the driver.
There were no classes for the day so we were forced to compete against the thumping 5.7 Litre Gen III V8's - a number of which were very heavily modified with superchargers etc.. (several of them were putting out well over 320+ KW at the rear wheels.)
About 20 cars competed - each in turn having their run timed electroncially from the COMS tower.
Top Ten Round 1 Results - Audi Vs. Everyone Else
1st. Lucas Lozo Audi A4 1.8Turbo Quattro 38.39 seconds
(A.K.A SIk A4 / Lucas G Chips)
2nd. Joshua Holko Audi A4 1.8Turbo Quattro 39.38 seconds
(A.K.A Worx A4)
3rd. Sam Hallawell Holden SS 5.7 Litre Gen III 39.66 seconds
4th. Ben Holko Holen SS 5.7 Litre Gen III 39.98 seconds
5th. Dang Manzig Holden SS 5.7 Litre Gen III 40.98 seconds
(Supercharged)
6th. Paul Blake V8 41.08 seconds
7th. Stasik Demb Audi A4 1.8Turbo Quattro 41.19 seconds
8th. Scott Stevenson V8 41.36 seconds
9th. Mark Blekic V8 41.91 seconds
10th. Mark Ure V8 42.46 seconds
There was a round two held in the afternoon - LS1 only - no Audis competed.
There was quite a bit of ooohhhing and arrrring... over the Audi results and quite a few sheepish V8 drivers at the end of the day I admit my result put a big smile on my face and so did the comments of some of the other V8 drivers about the Audi's ability to get off the line and post such quick times with less than 1/3 of the engine capacity of the Gen III's!

It was a fantastic day and very enjoyable and our thanks go out to the LS1 Boys and the Latrobe Valley St. Machiners for the invitation. (I hope they invite us back next time!)
