Strange hiss.. need help.
<center><img src="http://homepage.mac.com/saturdaypark/.Pictures/Web/hiss.jpg"></center><p>Sorry for hijacking the image but I don't have a digicam right now... I have a couple questions.. What is the thing I have circled in red? I have a hiss coming from it or it's general area. What could in be? I don't notice any boost loss and can only really hear it with the hood up and the car on. Thanks in advance.

fuel pressure regulator
check the little cav hose from it to the intake manifold. That's a common leak. I relaced mine with a higher quality hose. A 5/32" vac line from autozone.

yes it will play havoc with your fuel mix
if it's leaking, it will cause you to run lean and that is BAD so check it and take care of that hose right away if a hose leak is indeed your problem. Note that tha cloth covered hose Audi uses makes finding tears in the hose difficult. So examine it thoroughly.
