so then I would need the A6 brackets with the S4 cross bar pluss some modifications to said parts

OMP says it only fits the early cars, anyone know anything about this?

correct...

at the very least the A6 brackets and you could make your own bar.

probably has to do with the A/C lines...which is why the A6/S4 doesnt work with early cars

In that case, I would go with the plans Sir Modified made available to use.

It's pretty much the same idea, with a little added measuring(twice), cutting, and drilling.

not being one to work with aluminum...

I'm thinking I might trying going to a place that does fabrication and have them make the crossbar for the A6 mounts. I don't like the idea of all those holes so close together on the modified S4 crossbar.
