Stuck in Safe Mode

Stuck in Safe Mode
Just recently got my first a4 and the radio says it is stuck in safe mode I know why I have the AUZ serial number and I can't find the code anywhere in the car. So I then tried calling 15 dealerships today all over Michigan and they all want me to bring the car in prices vary from $40-$100 which doesn't make sense. If anyone has this problem and know a cool dealership that will help please let me know thanks.

Most dealerships will supply you with the radio code for around $40. It's not that bad really. No dealership will do this for free.
You should also check the owner's manual booklet. You may find the 4-digit radio code on the cover or inside the radio booklet.
Lastly, there may be a sticker on the radio itself, but you'll have to take it outto check. Very easy with the radio removal tools.

It makes good sense. If someone could steal the radio and then just call any Audi dealer to get the code, then the whole anti-theft thing is kind of a joke.

Wasn't saying that the safe mode is a joke it's convenient I'm saying the prices are a ripoff when I already have the radio pulled it will take them 2 minutes to get me the code

I have heard if you call Audi of America they will get the code for you for free.
There are some folks on the Tex that say thy can get radio codes.
I have a Concert I head unit that doesn't require a code for sale if you want it.

I have the symphony radio in my 00 Audi. I have disconnected the battery several times, and the radio still works without any problems. I wonder why it doesn't go to safe mode?

Ya that's odd but lucky for you that you don't have to worry about it. I was able to avoid the dealers and called Audi USA and they gave me the code without a problem.
