Default Sudden Loss of Power at Low Speeds

I was driving home from work yesterday, and when I got off the highway, I noticed that my car was acting very strange when I would accelerate from a stop. (I have a 98.5 A4 2.8 Quattro Automatic.)

It almost feels like I am starting in 2nd gear. The car has VERY little power at low speeds.

Once I reach higher speeds, it acts perfectly fine.

I am very scared that this could be a trasmission problem.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Or does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Were you running the A/C?

Default Yes, but I turned it off. It didn't change anything.

I do lose a lot of power with the A/C on. However, this was a completely different feeling. It was like the car was struggling to get to 10 MPH.

I had that same problem pre-chip, but only with my A/C on (AEB btw).

The complete loss of power problem? Would it go away when the A/C was off?

Default Yes, it would. There was a TSB several years ago addressing the issue

I don't recall anything beyond that.
