Default suggested oil...
I have a 99.5 1.8TQ....picked it up end of last year, seems to have non-synthetic oil in it. Can I change it over now since it has 83k on it? If so, or if not, what type/thickness oil should I drop in it since it is due for a change now?

Default 5W40 100% synthetic, MOTUL or ELF are good choices or Castrol or Mobil 1
Make sure they are 100% synthetic some are only partially synthetic and are more prone to thermal breakdown...

The only oil I know that will de-sludge at all is Mobil 1 SUV 5w-40 or a few changes of 15w-40 HDEO.
