Default Meguire's Endurance - one thing to keep in mind

I use Endurance as well, and since it's from Meguiar's, I trusted it implicitly. Well, if memory serves, Endurance has silicone in it, just like ArmorAll. I try to avoid products with silicone because sooner or later some gets on your paint. This isn't a problem if your car will never have problems, but if you need a touch-up or re-paint due to an accident, then it is nearly impossible to remove silicone and get a quality re-paint.
Drew S. 98.5 A4 2.8 qm

Default Re: Stoner MSLT it is available for FREE....

Recently coupons have appeared in AutoWEEK for use on MSLT at Pep Boys. The results are basically a FREE can of MSLT. I agree with Andy it last and last and lasts. You can never go wrong with one of Andy's suggestions. BTW I have got 4 can of MSLT free over the last several years. You cannot beat that deal.

Default This is a solvent based product... any concerns about wheel finish?

Default I use Turtle Wax Tire Wax Professional Tire Dressing (wipe-on)...

I don't like the overkill super shiny wet look and this stuff produces just the right shine for me. Tires don't look overdone...just clean with a nice shine. It doesn't spin off and lasts longer than sprays. The thing I like about this product is it's NOT a spray-on and since there's no run-off, you don't have to worry about staining your driveway. Nor do you get overspray all over the sides of your car. It lasts well over a week or more. If after several days the tires start to look dull, just wipe them down and buff with a rag and the shine reappears. When the shine doesn't come back, I just redo them, which takes about 10 minutes. Excellent stuff. Comes in a box with applicator. It says "For A Deep Wet Shine" on the box, but it's not really an overly "wet" looking shine like some I've seen.

Default MSLT is "sticky" on Dunlop SP9000.........

On my SP9000 I use Meguire's Endurance on my Continentals I use MSLT. My Winter tires are also ok with MSLT.

Default Brownish buildup....

Since I started using the Meguiar's #40 vinyl & rubber cleaner/conditioner I do not get this brownish buildup (oxidation) anymore. Plus, it can be used inside and out, lasts fairly long and leaves a nice matte sheen.

Default Silicone

Not all silicone is bad - it just depends on how it is formulated in the product. Also, any capable body shop should be able to strip any residual silicone from the surface before repainting. I would bet that there are not many products out there that do not contain silicone. I think the latest Motor Trend has a large article about all of this and other car care myths.

Default Make sure it's dust resistant

Audi dealer detailed my A4 after a service visit, including something on the tires. Now, I'm not a big fan of shiny sidewalls--no doubt partly related to watching some GIs spit shine the tires on a General's jeep with Kiwi shoe polish...in Vietnam, no less, shish--but I wasn't too bothered by the tire treatment without consulation, at first.

Then, I drove on some Texas caliche-surfaced roads (white, powdery), and the tire gloop picked up and held that fine dust. Took several hard scrubbings to remove. Last time I was in, my directions were NO tire treatments (and my service manager nodded in quick agreement, understanding completely).
Lewis

I totally agree. Better than spray-ons because there's no mess and it lasts longer.
