Default sounds like the clips are breaking,

I brought mine to the dealer, and they fixed it under warranty.

Default Yes

What you need is the sunroof guides. You would need to remove the headliner and remove the sunroof frame. Then the guides will slide out the back. INstall new ones and put it all nack together. Not a hard job if you done a few but def not a typical DIYer.

Default Mine makes the same horrible cracking noises. It still works fine, but sounds terrible.

Is there a step-by-step on replacing the guides? (no, I haven't searched yet)

Default I have the same problem......had it for about 6 months now

Haven't had a problem with sealing or opening.....it just sounds NASTY.....sprayed some white lithium grease in there and the noise suppressed. Worth a shot

Same problem here too... until it totally stopped closing by itself.

Default i chose to live without it...

mine is doing the same thing, so i'm scared to open and close it. i took it to the shop in my area and they said it would cost around $1000 to fix it. i just told them to let it be. don't really need that damn thing anyway.

Default Easy fix...Maybe!

Mine did that too and i noticed that it was just these black plastic guides that were causing the horrendous cracking noise. So i popped them off and it is good as new! Don't know if it's the best idea but it's nice on the wallet!
