Hi everyone,
I have a 99 Audi a4 1.8t, Quattro that I am in love with.

Just purchased the car a few months ago, and been having some issues.

The car is pretty much stock, except that the car has a computer from TAP(ECU is adorned with their stickers) out of Florida, but they have seemed to gone under and cant get any info on what programming the ecu is running.

The Audi doesnt drive like other 1.8t. This one is definitely more zoomy.

The issue that I am having is that from a green light, with very little throttle input or partial(10%) throttel, the car feels like it accelerates very fast, but only does the surging in first or 2nd gear. Boost levels look normal and i get the occasional jerk when i let off around 2-3k rpm

On highway speeds, with little throttle input or partial throttle, the car doesnt accelerate as hard but you can still feel the surge when .

Overrall, it feels like the TPS might be to blame, but I dont know.

VAGCOM shows no codes except for my cat efficency but that would cause the surging in first and 2nd gear.

I also noticed that my temperature gauge is malfunctioning cause when I turn the key on in the morning, the temp shoots up to the first quarter mark without the engine even starting.

I changed the coolant temp behind the head but nothing, which leans me to believe that the cluster might be faulty. Im going to change it out and see if it works..
