Default Suspension problems continue. Bad install? What do I do?

I went to DynoSpotRacing on Friday for my suspension install (H&R sports, bilstein shocks). When I left, the car was very uneven and there was a lot of noise coming from the back.

Here is my post from Friday night:

https://www.audiworld.com/forum/m.new/a4/msgs/360303.phtml

Well I went back on Saturday and they confirmed the noise. They removed my rear suspension and redid it. Noise was still there. They did this 2 more times and nothing changed. Then they "found" directions for the bilsteins in a box and realized they had been installing them wrong every time. What?! Don't they know what they are doing? Well I am one of only a few FWD A4s they have done, but I still expect them to know how to install shocks.

After they finally installed them correctly, the noise was gone. The car rides a lot better now, noticeable improvement from stock sport suspension.

However, the back of my car still is very high. I have about a 2.5 finger wheel gap in front and a 3.5 finger gap in the back. Both of thses sound high. I was expecting about 2 fingers all around right away before settling. 3.5 fingers is definitely wrong. That's stock!

So what do I do? DSR says they can raise the front shocks (bilsteins are adjustable in front) to even it out but I don't want that. The back should be lower!

Who do I talk to? I am planning to call H&R and bilstein tomorrow and see what they say. Should I take it somewhere else and have them check it out? Could the install still be bad?

This is turning out to be a real nightmare. After researching suspension for so long and deciding on H&R and bilsteins and thinking they would give me 2 fingers wheel gap all around, I can't believe the results I am getting.

Let me know what you guys think I should do.

Thanks.

Sachin

Default Can you take a look at the springs and tell us which way the words are. They might have put them on

upside down. This would cause the springs to sit in the notch right making them sit at an angle. When we did my Intrax springs we noticed the words were upside down when the springs were put in correcly. Can you please post some pics of the car and some close up shots of the springs them self.

Default Here are some pictures. The numbers are not upside down.

Should they be?

I can clearly see the numbers through 1 wheel in front and they are fine. In the back through 1 wheel gap I can just make out HA which means the numbers are not upside down and it means the rear ones are correctly in the rear.

You can see my huge wheel gap in these pictures.

Thanks.

I know you don't want to hear this, but the Eibach's will give you the drop you're looking for.

Default Eibach and H&R both claim about the same drop...

and every A4 with H&R sports has been exactly what I'm looking for.

But if I have to buy new springs, I am willing to do it.

Default Every person I have "talked" to has confirmed that the H&R sit slightly below stock sport height.

Add to that the fact that my Eibachs have the car sitting lower than their estimates, and it's easy to see why there is such a difference.

The Eibach's leave a hair under 2 fingers front and rear. Mine have been on the car for about two weeks now...they've settle a tad, but it makes the car look nice.

Default But if you want to go even lower but dont want to go to low like the H&R race springs, then get the

Intrax springs. They lower the car by 1.75"
