Default Suspension stock vs. stock sport vs. aftermarket

I've searched the archives--now I'm more confused.
Background:
2000 A4QM(nonsport)
APR chipped, Now I'm driving harder especially in turns.
Not into road racing, want less roll in turns and better cornering.
Do not want really stiff ride.
Plan to upgrade to 17" rims when current 15" tires wear out, and use 15" rims for snow tires.
Cost is an issue.

My questions are
1) Do the stock shocks differ significantly from the stock sports package shocks?
2) What is the effect of sports springs and stock shocks? Lowers car, and stiffer ride--or is it too bouncy with the stock shocks.
3) Sway bars? Will they reduce some of the roll? What exactly do they do? I believe the stock suspension has front and rear , doesn't it? Is it worth upgrading to sport sways? (Clair has them for about $250 for front and back.) I've read that aftermarket sways have caused some problems?
4) Since cost is an issue I plan on upgrading in stages. If I upgrade to stock sports package, I paln to do it through the classifieds. How would you break this into stages? What would be the best to improve cornering and body roll for the cost?

Thanks for the help.

Default HEY AUDI MOTOR HEADS?????????????

Nobody ever answers this question. I've been asking for months!!!!!!!
HEY AUDI MOTOR HEADS - GIVE US AN ANSWER!!!
I think most Audi A4's are sold with Sport Package. At least to the people here. Maybe well get an answer one day. I plan on going with springs only. Cheap way to improve handling. But, I lease the car. If I owned it or planned on owning it, I would go with springs/shocks/rear sway or coilovers. HEY A4Eric.....now that you did the lights (assume Some wannabe Xeon) does the car go faster????? Just kidding...

Default Stick with a "sport" suspension from a 1.8T.....

....if you have a 1.8T already. The S4 suspension is designed for a heavier car so it wouldn't be optimal to use it on a 1.8T.

Also, if you have a Quattro, you'll need a take-off suspension from a Quattro.
