I have called couple dealers and they say that they can't reprogram the symphony from BOSE to stock settings ? Anybody can give me more info on that ... I have symphony radio and when I plug in it displays BOSE, and my front speakers don't work, because I don't have bose at all, does any body know codes for VAGtool to restore everything back to stock in symphony...

The only difference is the coding that is done via the VAG. I have seen this first hand when my Symphony was replaced. When the Parts manager first installed the Symphony it did not start up with "BOSE" on the display and sounded really bad. He grabbed their VAG and instead of looking up the code he when to a S4 that was equipped with the BOSE and grabbed the code. Then he connected the VAG to my car and set the code. Turn off the car, turn it back on and it said "BOSE" and sounded much better.

Britney,
I am having the exact same problem you described. I just had the BOSE radio replaced on my 2000 A4 (after a six month wait) due to a faulty CD. The CD now works but it no longer says BOSE on startup and the equilization is much too bassy. I told my dealer that it must be configured wrong but he said there was nothing to configure and is trying to get me another radio. I'll pass on your comments to him. Can you give me the name and number of your dealer so that I can get mine in touch with yours?
Ron
P.S. My dealer finally corrected the problem in a few minutes after I referred him to Britney's dealer. My radio now says BOSE on startup and sounds fine. It's too bad Audi dealers are so ill informed on this issue. You've got to wonder what else they don't know. I hope the brakes don't have to be programmed!
