In germany, all the car companies are nuts about direct injection diesel angines (TDI): every manufacturer is coming out with real kick *** diesel engines.
BMW just introduced a 330d with a 3 liter TDI that puts out alot of torque and HP and has great milage. Merceses just recently introduced a real cool E320 CDI that produces 350 lb ft and 200HP and here's the best: VW is working on a V10 TDI that is going to put out more than 300HP and over 500 lb ft (!!!!!!). I am sure this engine will be powering the A8 soon!
In europe you can buy the A4 with a 2.5l V6 TDI that has really impressive numbers (150 HP, 300 lb ft) and very low fuel consumption. If that car was offered here in the states, there is no question that I would have bought it instad of my 99.5 1.8TQ
Now I was just curious if I am the only one here on the forum who is so enthusiastic about TDI technology or if anyone shares this passion with me?
