Default Tech tells me that B1 S2 will affect fuel trim and performance

I thought (from having STFA) that only the pre-cat affects engine performance and that the post-cat is just emissions-related.

I have had 2 DTCs for some time and was not planning to replace the B1 S2 sensor until it was dead and caused a CEL:

16524 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S2: No Activity
P0140 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17522 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S2: Internal Resistance too High
P1114 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Tech saw the DTCs on the printout which has the "Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation" DTC as he is doing a pressure test - and has located the leak that was evading me while replacing vac lines!! Yes!!

Is there any good reason to replace the B1 S2 sensor now? Or should I just wait for it to fail for good as originally planned?

Thanks,
David

Default that should give you a CEL eventually

if it were me, I would replace it. I just bothers me to know something is wrong like that. The problem with having a CEL and thinking you know what its for is that something else could come along and you wouldn't know. Too bad the VW sensor are $90 now. I use the front one in the rear position with no problems. They usd to be $25

Default I get the same codes with APR stage 3. the non-foulers stop the constant CEL, but APR should make

the kit so that I don't have to do this:

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2128854.phtml</a

Default Yeah I feel the same but need to save my $$$

I also have a knock sensor DTC that I would like to get rid of - I dream of a day with no DTCs and I only have 3 now - but want to focus the cash on some mods for the time being

Default if you have a knock sensor DTC you probably aren't running any timing advance under load

that should be a sub $100 part. I would do that before the 02 sensor for sure.
