Default Temp gauge adj

Is there a way to adjust the ambient temp gauge on a 2001 a4? It always seems to be a couple degrees to high.

Default Mine is too. Usually 3 to 4 degrees to high.

But if you look at where the gauge is mounted, it sits right in front of the radiator. So, if you are forcing outside air into that region, like if you are driving really slow or at a stand still, then the gauge measures the surrounding air, which is warmer because of the heat emitted from the radiator.

So the gauge is correct most likely, just bad location to mount it.

Default I would think that there must be some way to adjust it.

Its all about voltage.

Sensor sends a voltage signal to the display, so it is possible to create some sort of a board that would adjust that voltage plus or minus few points so that display reads correctly.

How to do it and where to tap in? I do not know.
