I couldn't care less about the loose steering but I'm just worried about any saftey related things. The last thing I want to do it take out my car or someone elses.
I had planned on replacing my control arms before hand but it doesn't look like thats going to happen :/

if the clunking would be related to a sign of age and failing then and a track would be related to lots of stress and abuse on parts then i would rather have good working parts and a setup that is working.

I would much rather go with new control arms, shocks and springs but I dont think I'm going to have time to put them in and my parents refuse to have someone else install the stuff
Its just the pinch bolts that I'm worried about
arg now I just found out that germanautoparts carries the control arms, and theyre like 2 hours away from my house but I already ordered from ECS

it could be fine, it could fail and send you into the wall... it's up in the air.
Just start soaking the pinch bolt now with pb blaster and by the time you get the control arms hopefully it'll make its way out. I think making the time to do the repair is a very important thing in this case, but just my 2 cents. It's your life on the line not mine

I called up a local shop and they told me 8-10 hours for them to do it, so figure a long time for me, maybe double? I might be able to squeak in enough time to do it but thats if everything goes smoothly. I would most certainly do it if I knew I could finish but I'm scared of getting into a situation where I dont have the tools or time to get out of the situation.
Everything has been soaked in PB Blaster every morning before I leave so hopefully thats helping
