in a big clean jug. Use distilled water (sold in gallons).
Or dump 1/2 gallon from a gallon of distilled water - mix in G-12 coolant, mix, pour in reservoir - repeat until at max.
Let car idle.
Check for leaks
Put your hand on one of the big coolant hoses and squeeze it a few times to 'pump' coolant throughout the system (to help things along)
Refill the reservior as the level goes down.
Keep an eye on the level for the next day or two, refill as necessary.

We just did a Timing Belt - a - thon and I just (with replacing the radiator) slowly
filled the hose to the top of the radiator and the coolant expansion tank one at a time until they both were filled and ran the engine to displace bubbles and then top off later.
G12 and distilled water, nearly two gallons from memory.
