Is there a difference between volcano black and ebony pearl?

Yes they are different....
Auto Engineering Design class taught me:
Pearlescent is a gran31 (beads) VF1 (very fine consistency) base enamel (colorless) that is mixed with the additive pigment (black) seconds before applied to the car surface. The result is a semi-refractive rolling soft color.
Metallic paint is mixed when produced before entering the line area to be applied. It consists of fine aluminum grade powder mixed with a base black enamel with a very high viscous (runny) The result is pigment that doesn't have the surface tension to stick to the metal powder but enough to coat the surface of the car.
Hope this helps! =)

Yes, But they are BOTH pearl type finishes...
The difference is that the Ebony is just a bit darker, It looks closer to black in most conditions. Volcano looks more dark gray-ish, especialy under direct sunlight.
