Default I don't think so.

But it's just as easy to unplug the DIN connector to the CD changer, wait 15 seconds and plug the thing back in.

I haven't had to reset the CD changer in my car. What happened to yours?

Default a cd jammed itself in there...

so i took it apart, removed the cd and got all the cd's and the cartridge out, but there is still a cd in the actuall player, and i still get the "cd00 err" message. when i put the cartridge in and eject it out, the cd won't come out of the player part of the changer. so i was thinking if i could reset the changer. if that made any sense

Default ouch... sounds like a job for a car stereo shop

They can probably fix the changer and get the CD out. With all the little plastic gears in there and how expensive the changers are for the '96 & '97 Audi A4s, I'd be a little hesitant to fool much with the changer!

Good luck!

Default In a '96 I'm not sure, but I just fixed my 99.5 last night

If yours has a tiny little recessed button next to the eject button, use a pin and push it. That didn't help me, but it's a good first step. I ended up taking out the changer and removing the top of it. I saw a disc had been jammed and it caused error code 3. I just shook the changer hard on it's side, the CD slid back into the magazine and it was fine. Send me an email if you'd like more info.

Default Ok, first take out the cartridge by pushing a credit card underneath it and push around(more)

til it comes out. Then put it back in and press the eject button. If this doesn't work then the actual cd is stuck inside and you have to take it apart. It's not too hard to do that either just a pain. Oh and if you do take it apart make sure none of the circuits touch anything. That fried my changer very nicely.
