Thermostat

How hard is it to replace the thermostat on a audi A4 with a 2.8l engine?

PITA...

Its behind the Timing belt, so if your going to do it, get a new belt. It has to come off.

it sits behind/near the waterpump which is covered by the tbelt

I replaced mine last weekend, you can get to it without removing the timing belt on a12V..

..Be very careful tho'. I doubt its as easy on a 30 Valve.

Definitely 3-4 hours work so if your belt and waterpump are almost ready to be changed I would do it at the same time.
