Default when i pulled the pads out...

the inner pad (closer to the motor) was easier to get out but the outter pad was tight... like real tight. So I'm thinking that maybe the carrier mounts where the caliper bracket mounts to the upright is slightly bent away from the wheel. Might try to do a lil persuading next time I get time.

Otherwise, maybe the calipers need to be rebuilt? I mean I got them dirt cheap, so wonder if there was something wrong with them rather than the guy unloading them because he didn't need them.

Default i know a local ..

guy who had the boxster calipers with an ecs carrier and he had to modify the carriers with a couple of flat washers to get rid of a mm or 2 of rubbing .. that was their fix.. this was a few years ago though. it went between the carrier and the upright.

Default I already have that going on...

but my setup is very unique in that I have spaced the bearing out of the housing to get the proper offset for the hub/caliper/rotor. I then spaced the caliper/carrier back approx 3/16"

I think it has something to do w/ the tweaked mounting points on the upright itself, but we'll see. I have some fiddling around to do I guess.
