Thule fairing question......?????

How did you get the center bar to go on without it touching the metal above the windshield? Did you use the outer or inner holes on the sides? Should the longer part of the bar attach to the fairing or the actual bar?

The sides should be done so the fairing gets a slight curve to it. See my bad pic... from the day I got my car

They gave me little pieces of clearbra type material to keep the farings rubber feet from scratching the paing on the roof.

There are several ways to attach the fairing. Since the L-bracket is hitting your roof, you might try to attach the short end to the fairing and the long end to the crossbar. Also, did you attach the L-brackets on top of or below the crossbar? I have the brackets on top of the bar, contrary to instructions. As for which holes to use, it probably doesn't make much of a difference. The outer holes probably make the fairing more stable, but depends on whether your brackets can reach them. HTH -Paul
