time to lower the car
Well I have been doing a lot of research on the best way to lower this car but also retain a smooth ride.
I have the non-sports version audi a4 quattro and the car just sits up way to high, not to mention it's not exactly sporty to drive.
The reason why I have been skeptical is because I used to own a ford zx2 and after I threw some eibach sport springs in there it was just unbearable to drive in chicago.
So I ordered a set of sports springs from someone gutting them off their car and then I proceeded to talk to darrel from shox.com
He said there is no difference between the bilstein HD and bilstein sport in terms of ride quality, both have the exact same settings. You can pay more money to get grooves on the HD, while the sport version is already grooved.
He said anything lower than 1.5" to go with the sport shock since it's made for lowering springs, anything higher go with the HD and groove them for added lowering.
Anyone with this combination?
I would love to hear what people think of it

Re: got the bilstein sports
did upgrading the tires help the ride quality as well?
If 10 is the stock suspension
what would you rate the stiffness of what you have now?

OEM sport springs and shocks improve handling considerably without hurting comfort, but....
they don't lower the car hardly at all. Still have enormous wheel gap, so it's gonna be bilsteins/H&Rs for me when I get the cash for 'em. (You guys who told me to skip the OEM sport stuff were correct!)

Before and after.
Before

With H&R sport springs with Bilstiens. My wife drives it everyday and likes it much better then the stock suspension.
