Anywhere from $500 to $1000 depending on the shop.

with all of the other parts/labor for a 60k mile tune-up. TB alone should just be $200-300.

Default Right, well not all of the 60k stuff, just the timing belt, waterpump, thermostat etc...

no point in not changing these items since you are already there. The labor cost is minimally increased, but the parts tally does rise a little..

Better to change these items than risk a failure

Is this something I could do on my own?

Default I'm considering doing it myself...

parts for timing belt, water pump, and ther serpentine belt appears to be about $150ish from net, but some suggested changing the belt tensioner while you're at it. I probably won't bother. As for doing it, reading the FAQ section seems like removing the front end is probably the hardest part. Then after that, getting to the belt should be that bad. Please let me know how it goes, so I can decide whether to tackle this or not on my own next sprint. thanks!

Default Change the tensioner. Your price quote seems a little low. also, there are special tools needed.

Check out Blaufergnugen for good price estimates, also check out Adirondack.
