Default Timing belt please help

i need to do a timing belt on my 98 2.8, and I figured lets do the belt, tensioner, belt rollers, water pump, thermostat, coolling hoses. so my mechanic told me it was about $850.00 parts and labor. The parts are all Audi factory parts.
But i just went to AllOEM parts and found thst the prices for some of these parts cheap. My question is. Has anyone ever order timing belt parts from this place and if it a good idea to get parts from this place?

Has anyone here replace a timing belt on a 98.5 2.8 themselves?

Default I did mine about two weeks ago with the help of a friend...(M)

Mind you I have a 12V, but its pretty much the same procedure. It was pretty simple, and straight forward. The job took about 5 hours with a break for lunch. I also ordered my parts from allOEM. great service.

Default Yes, a bunch of us have. It's not that hard really, just takes a little time.

I did mine on my 30v, pump, t-stat, the 2 rollers, and the serp belt in 6 hours working slow, half watching a football game.

Did you use a repair manual or just common sense?

Default There is, but it's for an A6. Look in the tech section. you can combine the ...

A4 and the A6 timing belt tech articles there.. Use the A4 one for getting the front of hte car off, and the A6 one for the engine side of things.
