Default What do you mean by all the belts?

How many belts are we talking about?
What did you spend total to get this done?
I guess the reason why I'm asking is because I stopped in a local Audi shop today to ask and the guy said worst case scenerio would be about $1,200. My jaw just about hit the floor. But he was saying that while its apart to check everthing.
I know I can check and possibly replace anything but I just wanted to make sure my Timing belt didnt go so my engine didn't go. That happened to a friend and it wasn't a good thing.

Default The car itself is gorgeous. Its the size proportion that's so funny.

I'd say take it to the local shop. The dealer won't let you bring your own parts in, and will screw you over on labor.

Default leaks are caused....

by people who are too lazy to torque the wp bolts (and one nut) down to spec and use "mechanic's feel" option. The gasket isn't the culprit.

Default Definitely no dealer. Does the shop have to be Audi specific though?

I have a shop right around the corner, was thinking of going there.

if you're running an old tensioner, you SHOULD be scared. It's no joke.

Nah, as long as they know Euro cars and you trust the place, go for it.

Default Tensioner change occurred in the 99.5 MY change according to everything I've read

ETKA wise, etc. That said, I have a 99.5 and I had the OLD tensioner. Changes mine at 60k miles.
