I did mine a few weeks ago, something like 88k miles but it had already been changed sometime before I bought the car but I didn't know it until I ripped everything apart.

Replaced with:
-ecs ultimate kit
-accessory belt tensioner
-motor mounts
-snub mount(apr)
-tensioner piston
Had I seen the rad leak(side seal) then , I would have replaced that as well.

It was a far bit in parts as I remember, around $700. Also did wires, all filters, and brakes at the time. Use a Geba waterpump if you do it yourself, their a factory manufacturer.

then the 6cyl. You really don't need any of the factory tools you need to do the 6cyl cars. That right there, is a huge reduction in costs. It also allows you to control the quality of the job(ie repair more stuff while your in there,"motor mounts").

Hey Shorty1.8tq- hope I'm not too late to chime in...
I ordered all of the stuff from www.germanautoparts.com. Got the recommendation off of the tech articles on this very site. Got all of the parts: Timing belt update kit-1.8t, Idler Pulley, 2 poly rib belts, 1 v belt, T-stat, O-ring gasket for t-sats and water pump (not the whole thing just the moving parts). Got it all for $282.89 shipped!
Bought the G12 coolant from the dealer and did the install in 6 hours (That's about the same anmount of time the dealer takes to do it and they wanted to charge me over $1200.00 w/ parts included)with the help of the two tech articles on this site.
I am not a mechanic and I had to buy a couple of tools also listed in the tech articles.
Very easy job to do, I really thought it would be harder but it wasn't. Save the money and do it yourself. BTW I did the swap at 60k miles to be on the safe side...
