Just one question...Why did you completly remove the radiator and all that other crap? The job could have been done without removing it, so I was just curious as to your reasoning. (Granted taking it on makes removing belts and things very easy, but it's still doable with the rest of it on.)
Great job on the write up! Pictures are wonderful, especially when accompanied by arrows and good descriptions.
I couldn't have done my belt change without your assistance earlier, so thanks for that as well!
Scott.

You'll have more room with it off, but when I did mine, I just unbolted the whole front bulkhead/radiator assembly and slid it forward. This gave me enough room to get in and change everything.
That means you can skip the 9 steps on radiator/condensor removal, and also the horns do not need to be removed.
I also found on mine that it's best to put tension on the belt by hand to make sure the pulley marks still line up before pulling the pin. On mine, I pulled the pin, and it moved the belt off a tooth. I had to remove the tensioner, and squeeze it in a vise to put the pin back in.

...but it really doesn't take that much longer to rip off the bumper and lock carrier, IMO. And I didn't remove the horns...just unplugged them :-) Thanks for the input..

..the tensioner actually FAILED on the previous owner (20K ago)....but Audi didn't replace it with the NEW style tensioner. So i did it all over again... If your tensioner looks like the one on the left...I'd suggest you look into this project.
