Default Timing Belt/Water pump

I have close to 150 KKM's on my 98.5 2.80..I have
a water pump leak now. I want to do the timing belt to at the same time. Is it necessary to do it at the dealer ($980 + tax canadian)?? Is there
is anything else I should do at the same time??
I would save about $200 if I do it at a local Mechanic.
