My 99.5 2.8 A4 currently has 65k miles on it. Should I change the timing belt and water pump. I asked the dealer and they told me 90k is the time to change it. I think I should change it now. A lot of people on this forum had their change at around 65k to 70k. Please give me some advice.
Thanks

Audi certainly knows their cars well, and if they say 90, then I would wait. It is not the easiest timing belt to change, and if it is not causing you problems, why possibly create one? just my 0.02.

Or are you changing it yourself. I called the dealership yesterday and they told me $1200. I think that's a little absurded. But so far $750 is the cheapest I've found to do the belt, rollers and water pump.
