Default i live in princeton.. i would lend you a hand but i'm pretty busy these next few weeks

i just did the TB job a few weeks ago with the help of some local audi guys. it's not too hard, but it's nice to have someone there who can guide you through it if you don't feel mechanically inclined or confident.

Check the link to a timing belt get together in Detroit. Four cars, 10 hours, 250 per person for parts.

Click

Default Somebody want to pass along a message to the person that started that thread?

1. He was overheating because he didn't bleed the system of air. If you fill the coolant, and just wait patiently and add coolant as needed, most of the air will work it's way out through the uncapped coolant reservoir (15-30 minutes).

2. Imbalanced mixtures of coolant and water will either reduce the cooling efficiency of the coolant (too much coolant), or reduce the resistance to freezing (too much water). You can buy a tester in Walmart that will tell you where you stand, and you can drain, and add fluids daily and recheck until you get back to ideal.

3. Going to walmart and adding the coolant they have with the G12 you've already put in the system is a bad idea. G12 doesn't mix well with anything Walmart sells. It will gel and congeal, and basically make a mess in your cooling system. My advice...drain all the coolant from the system, fill with water only, run the car for 15 minutes, let cool, drain completely again, then refill with 50/50 G12 & water mixture.

Default Anytime...

I did mine with the help of Chipstar and Iammatt. Went really smooth.
