Has anyone installed a tint with the autodimming mirrors? If successful what tint?(black/metalic), and what %.

It works very well with the auto dimming mirrors. I've stated this before, the auto dimming mirrors are the next best thing to sliced bread.

Sat in the new '00 BMW 323. The rear view mirror was auto dimming but the two outside mirrors were standard. Told the dealer that it was very odd and that our '00 A4 had the dimming mirrors all around. Even stated that our car was $26K compared to the semi-loaded 323 at $33K.

Is it me or has anyone else noticed why the BMW prices are so damn high? And they're everywhere...

so 20% all around should work??

On most tinted cars, you'll notice the rear windows are darker than the front. Therefore, the 20% is on the rear windows (20% refers to the amount of sunlight that passes through the tint).

The 35% tint is on the front windows. It is not as dark because it allows a higer percentage of light to pass through the tint. Now, each state may be different. Check with your tint shop. If your tint is too dark, you can get a ticket and must remove the tint on the spot.

I have mine tinted at 38% in the front and 28% in the rear. Check the registry for a pic. The effect on the auto-dimming isn't even noticeable. Sure, they don't dim as much, but then again, there isn't as much light getting through because of the tint.
