Elaborate.
My 2.8 30V had a bad hesitation or lag, particularly apparent between 2nd and 3rd, when new. After approximately 7,000, the engine appeared to "smooth out" and the lag has virtually vanished. The transition between shifts seems smoother and the car seems much more responsive.

I had this problem when new. I took it to the dealer twice. On the second try thoy could reproduce the problem and said that the ECU was "incorreclty coded" for my option package.
Although this made no sense to me (if the ECU is programmed for a manual and I have a Tip, will it even start?), whatever they did eliminated the problem and it has not reappeared in 6K miles.
Alex

The hesitation or lag in my transmission is still there. When I switch gears or in reverse. The dealer claims this is normal. My car has 15k right now 30V Quattro. I am still having hesitation when the gears change between 3 and 4k rpm. Has anyone resolved this issue?

Thanks
Armand

While I haven't had a problem with my tip tranny when I chipped it (and they did ask if I had auto or manual) it now shifts at the red line in auto and 500rpm into the red on tip mode where it shifted at the red line prior to chipping it. I therefore think the ecu may be your culprit.
