Hello all. I've got a '98 A4 with the 2.8L V6 and the Tiptronic/Automatic transmission. The Tiptronic quit working about a week ago. The car just doesn't acknowledge any input from the Tiptronic side. The display still reads PRND432 instead of switching to the 54321. Upshift and downshift commands are ignored. The car performs normally in automatic mode, and so is completely drivable (driveable?), but isn't as much fun. I really prefer the Tiptronic, and use it constantly, so I miss it. Anyone else had this problem? Guess at probable causes? Any help would be appreciated.

Most likely the magnets fell out. Do a search and you should be able to find replacement info as well as part numbers.
