Tiptronic problem??

Tiptronic problem??
On first gear my car revs up to redline really fast but the car doesn't seem to pull. And today when I rev it to redline, the rpm needle "floated" up an down the red line for almost two second before it shifts. However, the rest of the gear runs fine, pulling the car and revs up slowly. Is a stock 00 1.8tq tiptronic with 5000miles..anyone know why? Is is a tranny problem?

Answer: get a chip.
On the floating part... perhaps you're burying the throttle hard and as a result, the engine races to redline and hits the limiter before it is able to shift so it is limited, then redlines again, then limiter, and so on and so forth (thus floating), until the engine catches up with itself (car speed) and is able to shift. That's the tiptronic for ya. Unless you chip, if you punch it with the tiptronic, you're going nowhere
