Tire shine causes cracks?

The silicone in certain tire dressings may promote cracking...
however most tires won't last long enough for cracking to be an issue. Silicone attracts dirt, and it's messy to clean up. I think it also causes "browning" of the tires, so you probably still want to avoid products that use silicone (including most Armor All products).
