Default tire to wheel well gap is huge on my front wheel drive...is this normal?

I just bought a 98 A4 v6 (with sport package) and I'm realizing that this car seems to sit unusually high in the rear (about twice as high as other A4s I've seen - most likely AWD's). I'm wondering if this is an attribute related to the front wheel drive version or if there is just something wrong.
Thanks for you help.

Default I'm not sure if anything is wrong, but my FWD sits really high too...

It's ugly as hell but I can't do anything about it now (too poor!!). The A4's you are comparing yours to probably have the sport package as those sit lower.

I tried to find a good "Gapina in action" pic for him, but couldn't.
