toasted a dakota 5.9 R/T pretty well today, (lots) more...
i was driving in my 99.5 1.8tqstip when a dodge dakota 5.9 R/T pulled up next to me on woodward ave. it was not a fake or anything like that, just a factory 5.9 w/ an aftermarket dual exhaust put on. he pulls next to me, so i pull 4th to see if he wants to play (he didnt even hear this because his car was so loud). he doesnt react so i pull 3rd at about 45-50 mph. the car shoots into the 5000's, which definitely perks his ears. i hear him put it to the floor and get a downshift to 3rd, and then to 2nd a second later. i pulled about 3 1/2 to 4 car lengths up to 70ish when i lifted and braked. he waved and gave me a smile, but i was in shock. a 5.9 R/T should do a solid 7.0-7.2 0-60mph stock. i know that i have an advantage up high (OHV vs. DOHC turbo) as far as powerband, but still 245hp vs. 150hp?!?! there were three of us in my car, he was alone in his, i mean what gives. i have g-tech'd my car at a solid 8.99 0-60mph and a 16.3 1/4 mi. i should have either lost or stayed even, i dunno. any of you have stories?

Clearly, the driver of the Dakota either wasn't trying or doesn't know how to drive
These trucks are pretty quick and there is no way a 1.8t will keep up with it. Don't get me wrong I love the Audi but the power/toque difference is too much.

when you hear 5.9 liters of dual exhausted V8 next to you at 5500 rpm, you know he's tryin, more...
he was tearin pretty hard, i heard that engine working, believe me. (besides what self-respecting R/T owner would let me beat him) also, he doesn't need to know how to drive, he just needs to know how to put the pedal to the floor.
