Out of warranty, worn seats, dirty engine bay, chips and scratches... now that I've modded the car, the car has become the 'comfortable bluejeans'.
I thought about trading it in for a TT or S4, but I don't think I can stand the 'new car syndrome' again- worrying about every little smudge and etc.
I still try to park away from other cars, I wash it once a week (used to wash it twice / week the first year) and I still don't allow food in the car.
I do miss the new car smell though...<ul><li><a href="http://home.earthlink.net/~palmerj/">My Site!</a></li></ul>

It appears that you are always 1 year ahead of me in my car choices.
I still own my 1989 GTI 16V (yours is 1988). I also have a 1998 A4 (yours is 1997).
Not that you would care ... but I thought it was interesting. Check out my A4 site ... nothing special ... "just the facts ma'am."<ul><li><a href="http://a4speed.homestead.com/mya4page.html">http://a4speed.homestead.com/mya4page.html</a</li></ul>

Jay, use the Meguiar's #40 - it has that new car smell to it. BTW, your tires are still alive on my car! Good thing I took both of them as I needed the second one a few months ago. I have some Dunlop 5000's on the way, though, as I just got yet nother nail. Another thing about the tires - what did you use on them? There is still a brownish cast to them that I could not get completely off (even with bleach-white)? My two original tires are free of this and still look like new from using only the Meguiar's #40 on them.
I'm at 3 years, 1 month and 19K miles, and I finally got chipped! Hope your last service went well. I got PP to split the cost of the last service with me since we were both somewhat at fault for my denial by AoA.
