Default Too cold to start?

Well, I stayed an extra day or two up here in Mass. to avoid the blizzard back home. But now the car won't start. I parked it afer driving all day on Friday. Didn't go out at all yesterday, and then mid-day today went to go out. Last night it dropped to about -15F.

The car cranks and then cranks rough as if it's almost getting one cylinder to fire.

The car has a half tank of gas in it so I don't think it go any water up in the lines.

Any one have any suggestions before I call AoA to come thaw it out?

(And I'm fully prepared for a coil pack to blow as soon as it starts up.)

Default ha.. same thing happened to me...

96 12 valve - mine is.. um.. tow it to a place warmer.. like indoor garage or something.. wait for 1 hour and try starting.. my fuel line froze.. but by the time i can get the fuel in the cylinders, it was flodded so car wont' start.. mechanic had to take the oil pan out and drain the gas.. so if u r getting spark and motor is turning, stop cranking now.. u r flodding the cylinders.. tow it to somewhere warmer and if it still doesn't start.. take the oil pan out.. (well that is what the mechanic did on my car)..... hope it helps..

Default if you flood it...

atleast I know this works on DBW...

floor the gas pedal, THEN turn it over.

Default Take a work light on a long extension cord, and put it in under the hood...

next to the engine. Let leave it like that for a few hours, that should help warm up the engine a little bit.

Doesn't help if you're in a hurry, but at least it should help in the morning.

Default ... the ecu...

has a function built in such that if you turn the engine over with the gas pedal floored, it will "unflood" the engine per se...
