Too much throwout bearing travel w/single mass flywheel setup?
I just installed a Valeo single mass flywheel and clutch combo kit on a '97 1.8TQM. Clutch pedal travel and engagement is great, but something is not right. When the clutch pedal is pushed to the absolute floor (within 1/4" of the pedal bottoming), there is a light whiring/rubbing sound like the PP fingers hitting the clutch disc hub. Perhaps the now sprung disc and pressure plate combo is going into overtravel. If that is the case, I can try to limit the pedal travel with a stop to not get into this situation. Has anyone else experienced this?

Should not be an issue with the single mass. I'm fine with my OEM Sachs Tbearing..
and 034 single mass FW.
Not sure what could be causing the whiring noise. Could just be a bad Tbearing - though they usually click.
Who did you purchase the kit from?

I bought it from Gripforce Clutches via eBay. Valeo disc and plate, Sachs throwout bearing.
I'm 99% sure its something contacting the then stationary clutch disc hub, most likely the pressure plate fingers. It only does it when the clutch pedal is going into the carpet, during the last 1/4" or less of pedal pad travel. Extending the stop on the pedal arm will limit the travel, but the fact that it does it at all is not right.
